Welcome back! I’ve been making more of a focus on my blog and YOUTUBE to highlight certain card-making techniques lately. I am so grateful to the craft bloggers who have helped me learn this craft, that I hope to give back to anyone else who might be looking to learn more, as well! I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I have!
I would like to share a few tips on ink blending today! Its such a simple technique but it gives colorful and stunning results. I made a quick video on how I like to do my own blending:
- Start off the page and then blend on in a light, circular motion
- Break in your foam blending pads by using them A LOT!
- Just keep blending! It sometimes takes a while to get that bright, bold blended background.
Simple, right? I created two cards using BRUTUS MONROE’S SURFACE INKS. This first one has more of a subtle blending to it.
I blended the left side, masking off the edges with some painter’s tape. Then, I die cut the border on the right side and popped that panel up with some foam adhesive. I also colored the balloon images from the BALLOON ANIMALS STAMP SET with my STYLE FILE ALCOHOL MARKERS. After fussy cutting them out, I adhered them as well as the clouds to my card.
My second card here is the one you watched me create in the video. I blended together the SURFACE INKS, and then added my image and sentiment. Again, I colored the images with my STYLE FILE MARKERS. I love these markers! They are so easy to use. If you would like to see my previous post that highlights these markers, JUST CLICK HERE.
Hope you enjoyed today’s post! Don’t be afraid to grab those SURFACE INKS and get to blending!
Also, don’t forget to check out this new stamp set, BALLOON ANIMALS, in the Brutus Monroe store!
Until next time,
