Shoot for the Moon! Galaxy Cards

Welcome back, crafty friends! I absolutely LOVE the galaxy look on cards, so when Brutus Monroe came out with their OUT OF THIS WORLD Inspiration Box, I was so thrilled.

This box is full of everything you need to create your own stunning outer space cards! A space themed STAMP SET, washi tape, embossing powder, and more! There’s some fun add ons, too, like the ROCKET STENCIL and the GALAXY CARDSTOCK.

The first thing I did for this card was stamp and emboss the swirls in the background with an image from the stamp set, and the MILKY WAY EMBOSSING POWDER. This powder is so awesome! It has some chunky texture mixed in with some silver metallic powder. I also sprinkled some around on the background randomly, and then heated the cardstock from the back to emboss. This way, I could emboss without having to make it stick with any kind of ink.

For the moon, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper and then used my ZIGS to add color. I love the look of this watercolor moon. You could always change up the colors to make different planets, or even apply some of the new GLOW IN THE DARK GLITTER PASTE! How cool would that be?

I then adhered the moon with some foam adhesive, and added the dark pearl embellishments. The rocket is one of the images that I fussy cut from the layering panels. I added some SILVER WINK OF STELLA to the rocket instead of coloring it in. I wanted the whole card to look cohesive, and didn’t want bright colors on the rocket pulling attention from the moon!

I hope you loved seeing this card as much as I enjoyed creating it! Please check out all the fun OUT OF THIS WORLD goodies in the Brutus Monroe store. Have a great day, and Happy Crafting!

Until next time,
Marie Nicole
