Brutus Monroe + Winnie and Walter!

I love it when two amazing stamp companies can join together show off what they can do as a team! This week, Brutus Monroe and Winnie and Walter are teaming up and sharing their creations. The Inspiration Team has worked (or played) hard to bring some fantastic inspiration, so please keep and eye on the Brutus Monroe blog AND the Winnie and Walter blog!

For my card today, I used this sweet stamp set from Winnie and Walter- the IN BLOOM: CAROLINA’S FLORALS. This set stood out to me because I loved the sweet little images and the strawberries! With two small kids who love fruit, we tend to eat a lot of strawberries in our house!

I knew I wanted the stamped images to have a soft, watercolor look to them, so I tried a new-to-me technique. I used my ZIG WATERCOLOR MARKERS to color directly onto the stamp. Then, I used my BRUTUS MONROE H2O MISTER to spritz some water onto the color. With the water moving the color around, I was able to get a sort-of watercolor look when stamping the images.

Since I was using more water than I normally would, I stamped the images on watercolor paper. Then, I used my CIRCLE FOUNDATION DIE to cut the images out onto a large circle.

The background is some cardstock from BRUTUS MONROE, and I used my LOCOMOTIVE SURFACE INK to stamp one of the sentiments from the stamp set repeatedly at an angle.

For the sentiment in the front, I stamped the word “Happy” with my DETAIL INK, and then die cut it out. The remaining sentiment underneath was stamped and embossed in ALABASTER EMBOSSING POWDER.

To finish my card, I added a little baker’s twine tied in a bow, and also added a few sequins from a mix by DRESS MY CRAFT.

I love how soft this card turned out! Please make sure to stop by the WINNIE AND WALTER BLOG, as well as the blog at BRUTUS MONROE!

Until next time,
Marie Nicole
