Hey there, friends! Today I am sharing this mixed media tag as part of the Brutus Monroe weekly blog hop. The theme this week for the Inspiration Team is “Fall Favorites”!
Whether your favorite things about fall are the changing leaves, sweater weather, hot drinks, or leggings, there is usually something that everyone loves about this season!
I decided to create a mixed media tag that features some of my favorite fall colors and textures.
First, I began by ink blending a few colors on the LARGE MIXED MEDIA TAG. I used the colors SUEDE, MACCHIATO, and MAPLE.
After the tag was ink blended, I used a WINNIE AND WALTER stamp set to stamp some florals on the background using the colors MACCHIATO, PLUM, and TERRACOTTA. I did some second generation stamping so that the images would be muted on the background.
Next, I used my EMBOSSING INK PAD and dragged it across the tag in a few random areas. I embossed it in PENNY EMBOSSING POWDER.
With the background done, I added some embellishments. I wanted to stay with the natural, rustic look. I took some twine and tied it into a circle, then glued it down with a little BRUTUS MONROE CRAFT GLUE.
Behind the twine, I tucked a few strips of paper bag that I found. The little chipboard leaves are from a Brutus Monroe inspiration Box from the past. I inked the edges with more EMBOSSING INK and then embossed them in some more PENNY EMBOSSING POWDER.
I cut the word, “thanks”, from one of the new WORD DIES from Brutus Monroe that will be in store soon! I love how thin these dies cut, and the font is just perfect!
I finished my tag by adding a little metal owl charm and a few gold flat-back pearls. Overall, the tag is pretty simple, but I like how it features the rustic colors of the season, as well as the feeling of gratitude that we celebrate this time of year (and hopefully all year round!).
So thanks for stopping by today! Please hop along with the rest of the team to see their featured fall favorites!
Marie, this is so gorgeous! Absolutely love it and your photo of the tag, too. Great composition! ❤
