Welcome, crafty friends! I am excited to share some fun and colorful cards with you today! I had the pleasure of playing with a few Spellbinders CUT AND EMBOSS FOLDERS, and I love the cards they created.
These folders are unique, in that they dry emboss AND cut at the same time. You can see the embossed designs they make, as well as some of the cut out accents. I decided to try some colorful backgrounds with these cards by doing a watercolor wash on some watercolor paper using my Brutus Monroe AQUA PIGMENTS.
The first card I created is this lovely purple and orange one. I started by wetting my AQUA PIGMENT PAPER, and then adding some hues of my Aqua Pigments. I started with purple, then switched to pink, then red, and finally orange. Once the watercolor was dry, I added some shimmer on top by brushing on a layer of PEARL Aqua Pigment. This is a white color but full of shimmer! I also added splatters of water, let it set, and then blotted it away with a towel. This created some spots that almost have a bleached effect.
I then ran my background through my PLATINUM 6 after slipping it inside my Cut and Emboss Folder. The design is so gorgeous! I added some glitter paper behind the cut out areas, so you can just see some of that gold sparkle. I finished the card by adding a small sentiment on a strip of black cardstock, gluing down some sequins, and then mounting the card front to some kraft cardstock.
My next card that I created with these folders is made in much the same way.
I again made a colorful, watercolor background with my Aqua Pigments. This time, I used Teal, Blue Green, Yellow, and again Orange. I added some splatters of water again for some bleached spots.
I then cut and embossed my watercolor paper with my second CUT AND EMBOSS FOLDER by running it through my PLATINUM 6. The design on this folder is equally as stunning, and I just love those heart cut outs!
I then used one of the heart cut outs and adhered it next to the sentiment using some foam adhesive. Then, to finish the card, I scattered and glued down a number of clear, shiny sequins.
I hope you have enjoyed an up-close look at these fun cards created with SPELLBINDERS CUT AND EMBOSS FOLDERS!
