Spellbinders Stamp of the Month- Key to My Heart!

Hey, friends! I have the privilege of sharing with you these new stamps for SPELLBINDER’s STAMP OF THE MONTH CLUB! This stamp set, KEY TO MY HEART, from Fun Stamper’s Journey, has a number of detailed stamp images of locks, keys, a fabulous pair of wings, and some sentiments to go along with. Here’s my process video on how I used this stamp set to create a simple card.

The first thing I did to start this card was to grab some white cardstock and stamp out these images using my EMBOSSING INK. Then, I embossed the imaged in my GILDED EMBOSSING POWDER. After embossing, I fussy cut them out, and set them aside to work on my background.

Next, I grabbed another panel of white cardstock, this time cut down to slightly smaller than my card base. This way, it allows a small matted border around the front of the card. I used my GOLD GLITTER GLAZE and gently scraped some on with a PALETTE KNIFE. I wanted to give the affect of glitter falling from the sky, so I applied from the top down, making sure that the glitter was heavier on top, and then fades out towards the bottom.

Applying such a small amount of glaze does not take much time at all to dry. I did hit it with my HEAT TOOL to speed up the drying process, but you could also just set it aside for a few minutes to let it air dry.

Once the glaze was dry, I placed the card panel into my MISTI and stamped out the sentiment with some VERSAFINE BLACK INK. Stamping over the glaze was absolutely no problem, and I was able to achieve a good impression!

I then added my glittered card panel to my card base using some FOAM ADHESIVE. Then, I grabbed the images I had fussy cut earlier and applied some foam adhesive to the back of the key, as well. I adhered the wings to either side of the key using some BRUTUS MONROE CRAFT GLUE. I love how the glaze and the embossed images just shine! Even though this card is all gold and white, I think it really pops, dont you?

I also wanted to try another  card using these stamps, and particularly the wing images (they’re so fabulous!). I wanted a different look and feel, so I layered some torn patterned paper and parchment cardstock onto a white card base.

The patterned paper is a collection from Canvas Corp Brands, called Bohemian Romance. I love the watercolor flowers on this textured paper! After I layered my torn pieces on my card base, I wrapped a little bit of white thread around the middle.

I stamped out the wings again, this time on some parchment cardstock, and then fussy cut them out. I also punched a little heart out of some SPELLBINDERS MIRROR CARDSTOCK to layer in the middle of the wings. This card needed some gold shine!

I then stamped the sentiment, and trimmed it down. I positioned it just under the wings, and adhered it with some foam adhesive. Super simple card to put together, but I love how the soft patterned paper looks pretty, but doesn’t distract from the main focus- those beautiful wings!
