Hey, friends! I wanted to show this sweet little card today just to show that even small stamp sets can be fun to play with! This COCOA AND LOVE set from Simon Says Stamp has this cute mouse image with a few hearts, cookies, and this darling sentiment.
I stamped and colored in the mouse using my STYLEFILE ALCOHOL MARKERS. Then, I fussy cut him out and set him aside. The background is super simple with just a die cut heart and the “love” sentiment which is a Lawn Fawn word die. I cut the “love” out of Brutus Monroe GLITTERSTOCK, and then pounced on just a bit of red SURFACE INK to give an ombre look.
I did some creative stamping with the sentiment. Since I already die cut the word “love”, I did not want that word stamped out, so I taped it off with washi tape while I added the ink. Then, before stamping on the paper, I removed the tape. This kept the part of the stamp clean that I did not want to stamp. This is a little trick I use when I want to stretch my stamps a bit!
I glued all my pieces into place using both my tape runner adhesive and some Brutus Monroe CRAFT GLUE. The mouse is popped up on some foam adhesive.
I stamped a few of those tiny hearts from the set around the mouse, and also brushed the mouse’s hat and coat with some WINK OF STELLA. Hard to see in the photos, but it adds a nice shimmer!
I then mounted my card front to a SEA CARDSTOCK base. I like the way this blue pops with the red! This image is so sweet, and can be used for Christmas OR Valentine’s Day like I did here!
I hope this inspires you to create a simple little something on your own today. Happy Crafting!
