Share Handmade Kindess- Sparkle Three Ways!

Being able to attend Creativation this past year was so amazing! Not only to see the new crafty goodies coming out this next year, but also to see and meet so many talented crafters in person. The people are definitely my favorite thing about the show!

So many of these fellow creatives I work with and chat with daily, so actually meeting them in person is beyond amazing. Fellow design team members and the individuals that work so hard behind the scenes. It was also such a treat to meet a few of the creatives that inspired my interest in cardmaking and crafting. Jennifer McGuire is one of those people and I was able to meet and speak to her in person! She was so genuine and kind, and even gave me this large, “share handmade kindness” stamp.

This stamp can totally be the focal point on any card, and also looks amazing stamped on your envelopes before mailing out! I chose to use it here as a sentiment, and I will be mailing this out to a crafty friend! As I mentioned in the title, this card features THREE ways to sparkle your cards, so let’s get started!

I first started by stamping out the sentiment using SEA SURFACE INK, and then sprinkled some RAINBOW EMBOSSING POWDER over the ink before it dried. This embossing powder does not add color, but it does add colorful rainbow sparkle! Perfect for making this sentiment stand out! This is the first way I added sparkle to my card- shiny embossing powder!

So after my sentiment was stamped and embossed, I masked it off by stamping the sentiment again onto BRUTUS MONROE MASKING PAPER, and then placing this paper over the sentiment on the front of the card. I then used the ink colors, SPECKLED EGG, SEA, and FOUNTAIN to ink blend an ombre background over the sentiment. After the ink blending was complete, I splattered on some PEARL AQUA PIGMENT. This Pearl also does not add color, just some amazing shimmer! This is shimmer number TWO!

To add to the beauty of this sentiment and also add a pop of contrasting color, I stamped out this FLORAL STAMP from UNITY and colored it in with my PRISMACOLOR PENCILS. Then, I carefully fussy cut the image. The greenery on this floral has a curve to it that perfectly framed this sentiment, so I adhered it to the bottom of the sentiment using FOAM ADHESIVE.

With my floral image adhered, I was ready to finish off my card. I popped up my card front panel onto a white cardstock base using FOAM TAPE, and then to add my THIRD sparkle, I glued on a variety of these tiny RAINBOW QUARTZ TRIANGLES that are new from TONIC. These triangles are so pretty and add some nice shimmer without overtaking the whole card.

Overall, I love how this card turned out, I love all the shimmer, and I LOVE the message and all the people that this sentiment represents for me!

Until next time,
Marie Nicole
