I am in love with this set of dies from Spellbinders! This is the DRIVE-THRU set of die D-Lites, and its full of dies that you can use to build scenes and cards with fries, burgers, and drinks. Who doesn’t love some good drive thru food?
I made three cards with these dies, and I have so many more ideas that I’d like to try! I paired these dies with a simple ink blended background, and then looked through my existing stamps to see what sentiments would work well with these.
For my first card, I created a whole pile of fries. I think I would rather eat just fries than a burger- they’re my favorite! So this sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps just fit perfectly! I ink blended with Distress Inks, using the colors Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon. I then added water splatters. To be honest, these splatters were to hide a few mistakes I made while blending, but I like how it turned out!
Then, I stamped the sentiment in my MISTI using Versafine black ink. I added all the fries using foam adhesive and liquid glue, and then added some tiny googly eyes. These litte food pieces needed more personality, so I thought the eyes fit perfectly.
Next, I wanted to create a fun scene with the drinks. I have a sentiment from a Spellbinders stamp set, SHAKE IT UP, that was perfect for this!
I cut out the drinks three times from some pastel cardstocks from Brutus Monroe. I wanted more of a pastel and shimmery card, so I also added some Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze to the bottom of the drinks.
While the glaze was drying, I ink blended the background. To get the impression of a floor and wall, I taped off some of the bottom of the card using washi tape. I then blended on a few purple Surface Inks, and removed the washi tape. Then, I blended on the top portion of the background. For this, I used Speckled Egg surface ink. The pink and purple inks went perfectly with the matching cardstocks!
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment again in Versafine black, and added the drinks with foam and liquid adhesive. I then added some fun shimmer by gluing little pieces of the new Rainbow Quartz Triangles from Nuvo around on the background.
My last card with these dies features the burger and the fries. I die cut all the pieces out and assembled them. My fries were cut with colored cardstock, and my burger was cut from white cardstock and then ink blended. I created an ink blended background the same way as I did the first two cards.
I found a sentiment from the Brutus Monroe Love Bugs stamp set which I stamped after curving it in my MISTI. I then adhered the die cut pieces with foam and liquid glue.
Like I mentioned earlier, these dies were so fun to play with! There really are so many puns you could pair with these dies.
I hope you enjoyed these cards as much as I did! Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,
