New Background Stamps from Brutus Monroe | Unity!

Hello, crafty friends! Today the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team is hopping along together to show off the new background stamps from UNITY! These are red rubber background stamps, and they are a little larger than a typical A2 sized card front. They stamp beautifully! I have two backgrounds to show off in the photos- Lace and Floral Tapestry. For my video below, I will be focusing on the Lace Background. So Gorgeous!

 

I started by stamping the LACE BACKGROUND onto some vellum, and then embossing in ALABASTER EMBOSSING POWDER. I thought embossing on the see-through vellum would give this image the look of real lace. The results were stunning and just what I had hoped for!

After I had the background stamped and embossed, I then used my scissors to fussy cut portions of the background apart to adhere to my MIDNIGHT NAVY BLUE CARDSTOCK. The white lace against the dark blue is so pretty, don’t you think?

I also die cut a smaller rectangle from the same cardstock, and added some more of the lace to the top. The sentiment is from the SUPER SENTIMENTAL STAMP SET, and also embossed with ALABASTER POWDER. I popped up the sentiment panel with some foam tape, added a few flat-backed pearls, and a small twine bow. The making of this card was simple, but the lace background makes it really stand out!

The card I created with the FLORAL TAPESTRY background is simple, as well. This background is so pretty all on its own, you really only need to add a sentiment and call it done!

I stamped out the background on some more of that MIDNIGHT CARDSTOCK. I used ALABASTER WHITE PIGMENT INK so that I could continue with the white and navy theme of these cards. Once that pigment ink was dry, I used a sentiment from Tonic- their new ALWAYS DIE. This die cuts the word along with the shadow. I cut the shadow from some parchment paper, and then layered the “always” over that. This parchment paper is  see-through like vellum, but a little thicker, which makes layering over it a bit easier.

I finished this card by adding just a tiny little die cut heart next to the “always”. Such a simple card, but so pretty! You could use this for a wedding card, or add some supporting sentiments to the “always” to dress it up for different occasions. “Always here for you”, or “always thinking of you”, or “love you always” are a few options you could go with.
