With so many stencils, I was inspired to make several cards for today’s post. The first card Im sharing here features the new FLORAL GARDEN stencil. I used it with some EMBOSSING PASTE and glitter! Take a look at the process video below for a peek at all the new stencils, and how I made this glitter background.
Using the EMBOSSING PASTE with inks and glitter and these new stencils is so easy and fun to do. I love how this FLORAL GARDEN stencil allows you to ink blend or use other mediums to build a floral background.
I started by ink blending the leaves with several green hues of inks. Then, I flipped the stencil to use the floral side. I lined up the flowers to match up with the leaves, and then applied the EMBOSSING PASTE. Before applying the paste, I mixed it with a little purple ink to create a light lavender color. If you want a deeper color, just keep adding more ink.
Then, while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled some glitter over it. Its then best to set the glittered background aside to dry, and then gently rub the loose glitter off the paste. This way, the glitter won’t shed as much when you are handling it.
I then cut out the background to a smaller rectangle, and layered it over the BROKEN CHEVRON STENCIL that I ink blended in a deeper purple color.
The next card I have for you features the DECO WONDER STENCIL. This one is an Art Deco inspired stencil that I applied EMBOSSING PASTE over and then embossed using gold embossing powder. I then simply cut a square, turned it to look like a diamond, and embossed the sentiment in the same gold embossing powder.
The third card I have to share with you today features the OMBRE STRIPES STENCIL. Having a stripe stencil in your stash is definitely something I’d recommend! This one is fun and unique because the stripes are different widths that create an ombre look once ink blended over. I used this stencil here on the side of my card with a little orange ink.
I then did some stamping with an existing Altenew stamp set, BEAUTIFUL DAY. I absolutely love the versatility of this set, since it is a layering set and has some great images for creating a background. I stamped out the flower using several layers of inks, and then used some black ink on the stamps that I created a background with.
I finished the card by adding a sentiment from the BEAUTIFUL DAY set, and popped the flower up on some foam adhesive. Super simple, but that stenciled edge really pops!
Thanks for stopping by today!
