Many of these supplies are created with makeup in mind! The Palette Pastels are pastels that have been finely ground and pressed into a palette much like eyeshadow. They even blend much the same way! there are blenders that look like what you would use on your face, and Dramasticks that look like eyeliners. I do not do much art journaling, but these were so much fun to play with!

For the outline of this girl’s face, I used the Face Glimmer Plate and foiled it on my paper using some Copper foil. This created just the face outline with no hair. That’s the fun part- you now have a blank face and you can create a completely unique personality on your page!

I added skin tones using one of the blenders along with the Palette Pastels in the Birthday suit color palette. These blend beautifully, and there is such a wide variety of skin tones to work with! I am no expert at faces or makeup in general, so I kept the colors light with a more natural look. You could definitely play around with bolder colors, though!

Once her face was blended, I needed to give her some hair. I lightly penciled in some lines, and then added color using my colored pencils. I then blended out the lines a bit by adding some more pastels for a softer look.

I absolutely love the crown glimmer plate with this set, and I thought this girl needed to wear one! With the hair and the crown, she reminds me of Princess Buttercup!

I glimmered the crown and popped it up with foam adhesive on our Princess’s head. I also layered a few glimmered flowers around the crown. These flowers are from the June Glimmer Kit from Spellbinders and they look fabulous with this crown!

To finish this card, I added the sentiment from a Jane Davenport stamp set, and brushed on a little sparkle here and there with some shimmer pens!

I also wanted to create another very princess-like card, using just the crown as the main focal point. I glimmered another crown, as well as more flowers and die cut them all out. I absolutely love Glimmer plates that come with the coordinating dies!

I took some pink cardstock and stenciled on a little embossing paste, and also added some shimmery embossing powder over the paste. I then heat set it to melt the embossing powder into the paste. This gave a beautiful textured background with some glitter to it!

Then, I added my layers of pretty paper on top. I added a scrap of tissue paper with a strip of glitter paper running down the center of it. Then, I simply arranged the crown and foiled flowers in the center of the card.

I also had a little chipboard piece in my stash that looked like a tiara, so I added some gold embossing powder to that, melted it with my heat gun, and layered it just underneath the crown.

I brushed the whole crown with a sparkle pen and added some tiny, clear sequins for more shine. You can never have too much shine!

I had so much fun creating the face for this princess, and also creating a very feminine, sparkly princess card. I hope this shows a few ways to use the Jane Davenport Artomology and Making Faces collections!
