Hey, friends! I am so excited to be sharing the MERRY EVERYTHING CHRISTMAS KIT from Spellbinders! This kit is packed with all things Christmas! I created a post earlier to showcase using lots of the papers and embellishments on a mini album. For today’s post, I will be sharing how to use the die set from the kit to create a fun Christmas slider card!
First, let me say that this was SO MUCH FUN to create! I fell in love with this die set from the moment I saw it. That vintage car with the tree tied on top? TOO CUTE!
I cut out the car and tree and assembled all the pieces. Then, I cut a piece of white cardstock to layer on top of an A10 sized card. I ink blended a blue, wintery night sky. The twinkly snow added to the sky and trees is some Fun Stampers Journed Sparkle Silk that I splattered on. Every Christmas card needs sparkle, right?
I then used the die set, IN MOTION, from Fun Stampers Journey to cut out the slider track on the ink blended background. I adhered the car into the track by using the foam squares from the Christmas kit. I attached a foam square to the back of the car, nestled it into the track, and then added an extra piece of paper on the back to hold it in place while the car is sliding. (I have a more detailed look at this in my process video)
I added some glitter cardstock to the front of the card to make it look like the car was driving through some snow. I also die cut a number of the trees and adhered them down, making it look like our car is driving through a snowy night, searching for their perfect Christmas tree.
I also added a little strip of that same glitter cardstock to the slider element so that the recipient can pull the car back and forth easily. So cute!
I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do! I may just mail it to myself this year!
