Are you ready for Christmas? I has such a fun time creating with this new Spellbinders MERRY EVERYTHING CHRISTMAS KIT! This kit is packed with stickers, papers, cutouts, embellishments, tags, and even a stamp set and die set! You can make a whole set of cards, or use this kit in other ways, including a mini album!
I created an album with this kit by adhering the envelopes together to create pages with pockets. So quick, easy, and fun! You can then load up your pages and pockets with patterned papers, embellishments, tags, and your own personal photos.
I have a process video on how to make your simple envelope album, as well as some tips and tricks on adding some special embellishments.
The journaling cards in this kit are perfect for adding waterfall pages to your album! Just simple score and fold about 1/2 inch on the top, and layer them over each other. You now have a cascade of papers to load photos and memories in!
You can also add shaker pages to your album. I used the foiled vellum paper and sewed it over some of the black cardstock, filling it with confetti before sewing the last side. Then, I added a grouping of the fun die pieces in the kit to create a frame around an area to add a little photo. The pockets from the envelopes also add fun areas to tuck more journaling cards and tags into.
I thought the cat items in the kit were so cute! I added a page with more of a cat theme- one page has our nice kitty, and the other is the naughty one. I then used the large journaling cards to add a little booklet into this page. You can flip through and add photos and write memories.
If you want to add more areas for photos, you can simply cut little squares of patterned paper to add little photos into. I usually use my pocket printer for albums and planners, and I add several photos on one print, so my photos end up being small enough to fit onto mini pages. You can always adjust the size of your paper to fit the photos you want to feature.
My last page in my album I kept simple by layering some more pretty paper onto my page, and then a fun grouping of cutout images. Of course, I had to add one of the red self-adhesive jewels to the reindeer’s nose!
I used about six envelopes for this mini album. As you can see, it is already getting pretty chunky! I think six is a good amount for a mini album. You can add more pages if you want, just keep in mind to not add too much bulk to strain the spine too much!
This album was so much fun to create! All the coordinating elements in this kit made it so super easy to layer on the Christmas cheer. I look forward to filling this mini album with photos and memories, but you could also give it as a gift to a friend or family!
Best part? I still have SO MUCH of the kit left that I can even craft a few more of these!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you love this kit as much as I do. Remember, if you want to grab one of these kits, just stop by the SPELLBINDERS STORE!
Until next time,
