Hey, friends! Im back featuring November’s Designer’s Choice die kit of the month for Tonic Studios! This month, you get a set of dies that you can use for decorative corners, borders, tags, or whatever else you are inspired to make!
I created two cards- this first card also has a video tutorial that you can watch to see the whole die set, and how I used it.
I started by die cutting the decorative corner piece from some Honey Gold cardstock. Then, I glued two corner layers together for a little extra dimension. I then took a piece of red cardstock and cut it on an angle so I could layer it over the top of my card front.
I added the angled cardstock with some foam adhesive after adhering the corner die cut over it. I then added some stamped, colored, and fussy cut flowers behind and around the die cut. I love the addition of autumn tone flowers over this gold paper!
I then added the sentiment, also cut from November’s die kit, and a twine bow. The bottom of the card is some cardstock that I embossed a woodgrain texture onto, and then brushed over it with some Embellishment Mousse. I added some splatters of gold Embellishment Mousse over the whole thing to finish it off!
My second card is made using the border strip dies from the set. I cut a number of these detailed strips from white, red, and blue cardstock, and layered them over a piece of Glitter Paper cut down to an A2 size card front. Then, the sentiment is cut from the die set as well, and adhered over the background using foam squares.
Super simple, and I think the color combo with the glitter cardstock behind definitely gives it a Christmas feel. You could change up the colors for any season, though!
