Hello, crafy friends! Im excited to be taking part in this Holiday Parade with Scrapbook.com! There are so many talented crafters sharing a bit of their holiday inspiration with us today. I hope you find this AND all the posts today inspiring for your own crafting. Be sure to leave a crafty comment at every stop along the way of this amazing parade hop to qualify for an unbelievable GIVEAWAY!
20 of your favorite crafters have used tons of Scrapbook.com Exclusive products to provide you with plenty of holiday cardmaking inspiration! I think you will love the items used in this hop, like the Nesting Star Dies and Double Sided Adhesive I used on today’s card. Come join us on this parade of Handmade Holiday Cardmaking Inspiration!
I started my card by grabbing one of the NEENAH CARD FRONTS that are available at Scrapbook.com. These card fronts are Neenah paper cut down to a perfect A2 size which you can create on and then layer over the NEENAH CARD BASES, which is what I did for my card.
I used the INK BLENDING TOOLS WITH DOMED FOAM APPLICATORS to ink blend onto my card front. Using a light, mid-tone, and dark shade of blue, I blended the whole background together until it was the rich navy color I wanted. The middle is slightly lighter, because I wanted it to look like my stars were glowing once I layered them on, as well.
For the stars on my card, I used the NESTED STARS die set from Scrapbook.com to cut out stars. Before cutting, I applied some ADHESIVE SHEETS to plain cardstock. After cutting, I was left with a number of cardstock stars that had release paper on front that I could peel off and add some Nuvo Gilding Flakes to.
The gilding flakes were so super easy to apply over the double sided adhesive! I just covered all the exposed sticky area, and then with my finger rubbed the gold foil smooth, and brushed away any leftover bits. The results are a gilded die cut that shines so beautifully, and also has some unique texture to it!
I then layered these stars over my ink blended card front, but not before I added splatters of some Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. You can never have enough shine- especially with a holiday card!
Some of the stars were popped up using some of the DOUBLE SIDED FOAM ADHESIVE SHAPES from Scrapbook.com. This just added a little more dimension to the card.
My sentiment is die cut with some white paper from Altenew’s Bold Alpha dies. I then used the BIG AND BOLD CHRISTMAS stamp set from Scrapbook.com to stamp, emboss, and cut out the supporting sentiment, “to the world”. I added this supporting sentiment with more of the same foam shapes that I used for the stars.
I added just a tad more shine by gluing a few clear sequins here and there around the stars, and my card was finished!
