Monster Love Valentine’s Day Cards
Hey, friends! Im back with a new post featuring the Monster Love stamp set from Trinity Stamps! I ran into some of the Trinity design team at Creativation and they gave me some of these goodies to create with. I love these cute images and so do my kids! We all spent some crafty time together creating Valentine’s Day shaker cards with the images and the shaker mix from Trinity.
Watch the Creation Process
We started our cards by coloring our monster imaged and ink blending. I chose the Heffy Doodle Rays the Roof stencil to create a tone-on-tone background using two shades of blue Distress Ink. My kids used the same stencils and chose their own colors. After I had my blue rays ink blended, I layered on the Heart stencil from Scrapbook.com and added some hearts with white pigment ink.
Die Cut A Window
In order to create a shaker card, you need a window that you can add shaker bits behind. I die cut my window with the HUGS die from Trinity. My kids both chose a heart die to cut a window with. Then, we glued a piece of plastic behind the window to create a layer that you could see through, and also keep the shaker pieces in.
After we had the plastic adhered, we added foam tape all around the window on the backside of the card. This creates the area that will hold all the fun shaker bits! We added the shaker bits to the card base, and then adhered the card front over it.
Add Your Monsters!
Next, we added our colored monster images to the front of our cards. I chose to arrange mine in a group over the Hugs window. Hayden and Amelia glued theirs around their hearts. We also added sentiments that were given to us from Trinity, and the cards were finished! My kids love having a card that they made so much, they don’t even want to mail it out!
