Hey, friends! Its the beginning of the month, and you know what that means- the new kits from Spellbinders are revealed! Im sharing the Glimmer Kit for April in this post. This kit has some fun sentiments that you can glimmer, and it comes with some handy coordinating dies that perfectly cut out these sentiments.
There is also the option to add on some glimmer sentiments that are the 12 months of the year- January through December. This is great if you are doing glimmering for your notebooks, scrapbook layouts, planners, and such.

Start by Glimmering Those Sentiments
To start, I glimmered ALL the sentiments in this kit at once by arranging them onto my Glimmer platform and placing my foil and cardstock sandwich on top. I glimmered these sentiments several times, and cut them out. I like to glimmer many sentiments at once, so that as I create cards I have sentiments ready to go. I can easily grab one and add it to my card to finish it off.
I used the “happiness delivered” sentiment with the Drive-Thru dies from Spellbinders. I thought the sentiment paired with the fast food die cuts was fun and humorous.
Color Your Die Cuts
I cut all my die cut pieces out of Bristol smooth paper. This is plain white cardstock that works beautifully with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I wanted a no-line watercolor look, and this technique is fun and easy to do on die cuts. Just cut your pieces, and color with Zigs. I add more shading to the areas that need to be darker, and leave the lighter colors in areas that look like highlights. Since there are no stamped lines, you end up with a no-line coloring look. You can add details with a white gel pen once your coloring is done and dry.
Stencil a Background
To finish my card, I stenciled a background to add my die cuts on. I wanted something bright and fun, so I used my Rays the Roof stencil and used yellow, orange, and red inks. I then cut this panel down and adhered my die cuts on top with foam adhesive. The last thing I did was add the glimmered sentiment from this month’s Glimmer Kit. Such a fun card! I love how it turned out.
