Its the first of the month and you know what that means! Spellbinder’s Club Kits are available! This month, the June Glimmer Kit is some beautiful, scripty sentiments that work well on cards AND tags! I glimmered a few tags this month and I love how they turned out! A bit of bright colors with some black foil.

Rainbow Watercolor Smooshing
To create the bright watercolor backgrounds for my tags, I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and did some ink smooshing with them. I like to use the colors cyan, magenta, and yellow to color onto a stamp block. Then, I spritz a little water onto to colors to get the pigment moving, and I smoosh it onto some white cardstock. The colors run together a bit to create a dreamy rainbow background. After the watercolor was dry, I used Spellbinders Essential Rectangle dies to cut out small rectangles to layer over my tags.
Glimmer the Sentiments
I then used the June Glimmer plates along with the black foil that I received with this month’s kit to glimmer right over the watercolor backgrounds. You can absolutely glimmer over watercolor, ink, stamped images, and even a few other mediums. If you are ever unsure if you can foil over a certain surface, go ahead and try it first on a scrap piece just to see if you will get the desired results. I’ve found that most coloring mediums are fine to foil over.
I also added some black foiled polka dots to my tags. I am loving this black foil! It looks great with these sentiments, and it really makes the bright colors pop!
Embellish with Watercolor Flowers
I finished today’s tags by popping the sentiment rectangles up on some foam tape over the polka dot tags. Then, I embellished with some watercolored die cut flowers. These flowers are part of the Spellbinders Small Die Kit for June and I think these two kits work beautifully together!
I added some purple bakers twine to finish these tags!
I hope you enjoyed today’s bright glimmered tags! If you are interested in checking out any of the items I used in today’s post, take a look at the list of links below!
