Rainbow Watercolor + June Club Kits

Spellbinders June Club Kits- Rainbow Birthday Card- Glimmer Hot Foil- Marie Nicole Designs-2749

Welcome back, friends! If you saw my bright and cheery cards made with the June Kits from Spellbinders already, I have another one to add to that collection! I fell in love with rainbow watercolor and vibrant black polka dots, so I decided to add those things together on today’s card.

Rainbow Watercolor with Zigs

You know I love my Zigs, right? One of my favorite things to do with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers is to grab the colors magenta, cyan, and yellow to create a vibrant rainbow background. Here’s how- color onto a stamp block with your Zigs. I keep the colors in ranbow order- so magenta, yellow, blue. Then, spritz the color with a little water from a spray bottle and squish it onto your card base. The color will spread and blend together to create a rainbow on your paper! You can play around with the amount of water you add, too. Less water will make more vibrant spots; more water will help colors run into each other more!

If you want to speed up the drying process, use a heat tool on your watercolor. Or, just make a number of these backgrounds ahead of time and set them aside to air dry.

Glimmer with Hot Foil

I love the addition of black hot foil to my foil collection. I think it looks so stunning against the bright rainbow colors.

I added the foil to my card base by using Yana’s Polka Dot Glimmer Plate with the black foil. I also added the sentiment in black foil. The sentiment is a glimmer plate from the Spellbinder’s June Glimmer Kit. How pretty is that scripty font?

Embellish with Florals

The very last thing I did on this card was add some florals that I die cut with the Spellbinders Small Die Kit for June. I cut these flowers out of Bristol smooth paper, and then watercolored them again using my Zigs. I was then able to cluster the flowers together on opposite corners of my card using some liquid glue.

Then, the whole rainbow sentiment panel was popped up over the polka dot card base using foam adhesive. Voila! A bright, cheery birthday card!
