That’s right… I did say FREEBIE!
Scrapbook.com is featuring this FREE Sizzix die, Merry&Bright, with your order from them!
I wanted to show how easy it is to add this little Christmas sentiment die to some gift tags to launch some creative inspiration for you.
Watch the Video Tutorial
As you can see from the video above, I added some stenciled backgrounds to my tags. I took some white Neenah cardstock and, using Scrapbook.com stencils, added some fun designs. I chose stripes, polka dots, and some mod asterisk designs.
When making a set of cards or tags, I like to choose about three or four colors and stick with those. It simplifies the creating process, and ends up making all the tags look coordinated. Then, I can either give these as a set, or use them to coordinate my gift wrapping if I choose to.
My colors for these tags were black, red, white, and gold. Simple, modern, classy.
Y’all know I like me some shine- especially when it comes to Christmas projects. To add some sparkle to these tags, I chose to add accents of gold cardstock, gold gilding flakes, and gold embossing powder.
For the gilding flakes, I used Nuvo’s Gilding Flakes along with Scrapbook.com’s Smart Glue. This glue dries tacky, so you can apply it to your surface, let it dry, and then add your gilding flakes over it. Just rub the flakes into the glue so they stick, and then brush away any extras. Easy way to gild on some gold!
I added gilded dots tot he tag below just by stamping some glue on with a pencil eraser, letting it dry, then adding the gilding flakes.
This MERRY & BRIGHT Sizzix die is perfect for these tags. I also chose to fluff up the sentiment with some added stamping.
I used some Christmas sentiment stamp sets from Scrapbook.com to add some more words. I cut out three label-style words from the Wordfetti Christmas stamp set and added them to the side of Merry & Bright.
I also used the Wordfetti Holly Jolly to stamp, emboss, and cut out the circle “25” to add to one of the tags.
Of course, if you dont want to add anything more to the Merry & Bright die, you don’t have to! I think it says it all just on its own.
