Spellbinder’s March Kits BLOG HOP!

Its time again for the Spellbinder’s Club Kits BLOG HOP! I hope you are enjoying the hop so far! If you are just joining us, be sure to check out all the links below for some stunning inspiration. There are so many great Club Kits available at Spellbinders, and so many talented artists that have created for you today.

I previously used the March Glimmer Kit to create some fun Spring themed tags. I paired them with the clear stamp of the month, which includes these sweet little bunnies. They work beautifully together!

If you want a close up look at the Glimmer kit for March, as well as a full tutorial on how I made these tags, check out my process video below.

Sharing the Inspiration

In today’s post, I want to share another way to use the March Glimmer Kit. The kit this month features some sweet sentiments in a lovely, scripty font. I used the sentiment on an oval card today.

Have you ever created a card in a different shape? Sometimes it is nice to shake up the ordinary and create something a bit different or unique. I used an oval die from spellbinders to cut out the card base and the top layering piece with the decorative border.

You can create a shaped card by using your basic shape dies. You just make sure to leave the die overhanging the folded side of your cardstock. That way, it will not cut two shapes out- instead, you are left with a folded side and you have a card base!

Adding Your Embellishments

After my card base was cut out, I just needed to add some embellishments! I used the Simply Perfect flowers from Spellbinders, and I also used some of the Watercolor Floral stamps from some of their new releases. These work so well with the March sentiments!

I gathered the florals and greenery around the sentiment in the center, and then added some clear flat-back pearls to embellish.

Ready To Mail

To finish, I just tied some bakers twine onto the top of my card. This card is comparable to an A2 sized card, so it is still able to fit into an envelope and be sent through the mail. We always need more thank you cards, right?

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying the hop and finding some fresh inspiration today. Please continue the hop by following the list of links below.

I can just picture these tags hanging off of Easter baskets for all the kiddos. Really “eggsellent” job. (Sorry-had to be done.)
