Slimline cards are so trendy right now! The different size gives more room to make a scene or add fun elements to a card. It also fits into a standard A10 envelope so you can mail them without extra postage (as long as its not too heavy). I have another post ALL ABOUT SLIMLINES if you’d like to check that out!
Today’s slimline cards feature some new dies from Spellbinders! These slimline die sets are so pretty. They cut a full panel that you can layer over your slimline cards. I have two cards to share today, with a full video showing how I created one of them.

Like you saw in the above video, I ink blended a rainbow background on this card, and then spread some Nuvo Moonstone glitter paste over the ink. This created a really fun, really sparkly background that I could layer my die cut panel over! I love the look of that glitter behind the die cuts, it gives a sugared effect!
Once my glittered background was dry, I added the die cut panel. I cut this design several times and stacked and adhered them together. I wanted a little more depth to my design. Then, I adhered the panel over the glittered background, and added a sentiment with some more Spellbinders dies.

For my second slimline card, I again added a little ink to the background. Just a little greenish-blue color coming up from the bottom and fading out into white. Then, I layered on the die cut panels. I cut the panel once from gold paper, and again from white.
The two panels are layered over each other, but I flipped them, so they didn’t perfectly line up. This way, I get a little of that gold design peeking out from behind the top white cardstock panel.
To pretty up the front, I added some stamped and watercolored flowers from Spellbinder’s Watercolor Florals stamp collection. Then, I again added the sentiment which was cut from black cardstock using dies from Spellbinders.
I love how pretty these slimline dies are! So easy to add some color to the background and create a slimeline card.
