Cute Boots- Spellbinder’s Cardmaker Stamps

Hey, there, friends!

I’m sharing this Cute Boots stamp set from Spellbinders today. This set is so cute and I decided to try it out on a pair of mini slimline cards!

Mini slimline cards are tall and skinny- about 6×3. Each crafter tweaks the dimensions as they prefer, but to keep my cards simple I cut a 6×6 cardstock piece and then scored it in half for the 6×3 card.

I remember making this size card back when I first started cardmaking. At that time, I called it a “Tall and Skinny” card. I don’t know if anyone else remembers that trend?

Anyway, I have a quick video and a few photos on these cards today!

Stamp and Color

I started my cards by stamping onto Bristol Smooth cardstock. This is the only cardstock I will use with my Zig Watercolor brushes because it works so well for it! I stamped in light grey ink, and then added some simple watercoloring.

I had to add a rainbow to brighten up the rainy scene, so I just added a bit of pink, yellow, and blue with my Zigs and spread the color with a water brush. You can see how I did this in the video above!

In my first card, I decided on making a scene with the little girl and umbrella. My second card, I just stamped the umbrella images to create a patterned background. Both cards are mounted on foam tape and adhered to a light grey cardstock base.

Add Some Crystals!

I was excited to add some of Spellbinder’s Crystal gems to these cards. The crystals are self-adhesive and so pretty! Plus, they look like tiny drops of shimmering rain. I added a few to each card.

Then, to finish the cards, I added the stamped sentiments with some foam adhesive.

Hope you liked today’s cards! They are simple but pretty! I also loved the opportunity to try out the mini slimline size.

Until next time,
Marie Nicole
