Rustic Floral Papers + Die Cut Shaker Card

Hello, crafty friends! I hope you will enjoy today’s card as much as I enjoyed making it! Brutus Monroe has launched a new subscription club, the DIE OF THE MONTH CLUB. For June, the die is this beautiful Circles die that cuts this intricate design in a perfect A2 card size.

When I first saw this die, I knew I wanted to create a shaker with it! I cut the die out four times. I stacked and glued three of the cuts together, then cut out a square from the center to create a larger window that I could layer my patterned paper behind.

I cut the same square out of the fourth die layer, and adhered it to the bottom three after placing a layer of acetate between them. This created my window for my shaker!

I made my die cut from white cardstock, so the design could stand out, but also not pull attention away from the gorgeous paper I used underneath. This paper is part of the RUSTIC FLORALS paper pack. This paper pack has a number of floral designs in a variety of colors, all with a woodgrain design to it, as well. I cut down this piece of 6×6 paper so that the large blooms would peek through the die cut window.

I also wanted to frame the large square window and make it stand out a bit, so I cut a few thin strips of glitterstock, and then layered it around the square window.

Before adding the window to the patterned paper, I filled it with some shiny glitter pieces. I made sure to fill the large window and also all the little circles.

To finish my card, I used a sentiment from the LUCKY YOU stamp set and embossed it in ALABASTER EMBOSSING POWDER on a few thin strips of black cardstock. I added this sentiment over the large square window with some foam adhesive.

Thats it for today’s card! I hope you enjoyed stopping by today! Please continue hopping along with the team! Follow the list of links below!

What a beautiful combination of design elements, Marie! It’s always interesting to see organic florals paired with a more geometric pattern, and this card is the perfect duo!! I had to peer closely to see the little shaker bits but they’re subtle and sweet!! I just LOVE that paper pack!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this!

Beautiful card! I just love this paper pack. And at first, I didn’t realize you used a die. Was thinking some kind of inky with a jell press.
