Hey, friends! Welcome back to the blog. Today I get to share a few new items from Spellbinders! They have some holiday Glimmer plates that are just so pretty and make amazing Christmas cards.
For my first card, I used the ORNAMENT GLIMMER SET. This set has the large ornament that you can foil with the GLIMMER HOT FOIL SYSTEM, as well as some dies that cut out some greenery and poinsettia flowers. I glimmered the ornament in some blue foil, cut it out, and then also cut a number of the flowers and leaves.
I created the background for this card by spreading some Nuvo Mousse over a stencil on an A10 kraft card base. Once this was dry, I added my die cut and foiled elements. I turned the ornament into a shaker window by die cutting the center out, adding a piece of plastic for the window, and adhering it with foam adhesive after adding some star confetti from Nuvo.
I then arranged all the die cut leaves and flowers around the ornament, and finished this card off by splattering some FSJ SPARKLE SILK. This gave some super shiny splatters that looks a bit like snow!
My next card is super simple, but the glimmered sentiment pretty much steals the show! I glimmered the HOLIDAY BANNER GLIMMER PLATE onto some dark red cardstock with some gold foil, then trimmed it down to a smaller square.
For the background, I used a stencil to stencil on a buffalo check design, and also embossed a few gold stripes. This background is kind of bold, but with the large sentiment on front it tames it down some!
I added the sentiment to the front with some foam adhesive to give a little dimension!
