Shaker Card with Brutus Monroe October Inspiration Box

Hey, friends! I have the Brutus Monroe October Inspiration box to feature in today’s post! I have a full unboxing video on this box, showing what is included. I also give you a look at some of the subscription items from Brutus Monroe for the month of October.

I used the Die of the Month to cut out four background panels out of Raven Black Cardstock. I then stacked and glued three of the panels together. I then added a clear piece of plastic over those three panels, and then glued the last background die panel over the plastic. This created a full shaker panel that will fit the front of an A2 sized card.

I wanted to make a fun background to put my shaker card front over. Since there are six speech bubbles on this die, I wanted to attempt to ink blend behind each bubble, making it look as if each one has its own color. I chose colors to coordinate with the jewel tones of the sequin shaker mix that is included in the subscription Inspiration Box.

After I finished my ink blending, I carefully added my sequins inside my shaker window panel. Then, I added the card base on top, adhering with liquid glue. I made sure to line up the window front with the ink blended background, so that my card didn’t end up being crooked! I love that the liquid glue gives you that wiggle room to perfectly line things up before it dries completely.

To finish my card, I used the “thanks” stamp from the Extra Sentimental stamp set (which is included in the Inspiration Box), and embossed it on a piece of black cardstock. I then added it with a piece of foam tape over one of the speech bubbles.

I love how colorful this card turned out!
