Monster Birthday Cards with Brutus Monroe!

We can never have enough birthday cards, right? I like to try to send a card to all my loved ones throughout the year. When I saw these new stamps from BRUTUS MONROE, I immediately loved them! They’re so fun and make fabulous birthday cards that I can’t wait to send to my nieces and nephews!

This new set is called MONSTER PARTY, and is full of fun monster and party themed images. Not only is it perfect for birthdays, you can also make some cute Valentine’s or love themed cards!

I knew I wanted these cards to be bright and festive, so I colored all my images with my STYLEFILE MARKERS. If you haven’t used Stylefiles or any alcohol markers, they’re super easy to use! I created a quick video of the easy blending technique I like to use:

 

After creating a fun birthday card, I moved on to a Valentine’s card. I also kept this one clean and simple, using my same coloring method for my monster image.

I first used a heart stencil and then added some pearl modeling paste from TCW over the top. Once my hearts were dry, I added some fun embellishments over the top.

I used a number of different black and white washi tapes as well as a gold glittery tape and created a group of fun banners under the sentiment, “Eye like you”. Then, to help our little monster friend stand out a bit, I added a circle of vellum behind him and his cute eyeball balloons.
