Hey, friends! I am so excited to be able to share the new Glimmer Kit from Spellbinders for September! This kit has several decorative corner designs, as well as a frame. My favorite part of this kit is that there are coordinating dies that cut out each design! You can Glimmer right onto your card base, or Glimmer individual pieces to die cut out and then layer onto your cards, like I did here!
I have been loving the combination of Navy blue and gold lately, so I decided to go with that color palette and create a few shiny Christmas cards. I combined the September Glimmer Kit with the new Holiday Cheer glimmer set, Ornament Glimmer plate set.
I used the Glimmer frame piece with some gold foil on this card. I die cut lots of greenery and a red poinsettia from the Ornament set and layered it around the frame. I also used the sentiment from the Ornament set to add the words, “Happy Holidays”. I splattered a little gold on the card base before layering on all the pieces, and then finished the card with some Nuvo sequins in Champage Shine.
For my next card, and the one featured in my video, I glimmered all four corner pieces in the kit. I then used to coordinating dies to cut out the pieces, and added them with foam adhesive to my navy cardstock base. I then added lots of poinsettia and greenery pieces from the Ornament set, as well. This time, I inked up the die cuts a little with some Distress Ink so that they would have more of a dimensional look.
Again, I glimmered the sentiment and added that as well, using foam adhesive. I love how you can create a stunning frame with these glimmer pieces. You could even arrange the four courners as I have done here, and then insert a family photo in the middle to send for Christmas!
