Layering Fussy-Cut Stamped Images

Card created by layering fussy-cut stamped images. Colored with Zigs and embossed with Brutus Monroe Gilded powder. Marie Nicole Designs

Welcome back, friends! Sometimes, when you just take some time to play with your supplies, you come up with something fun and beautiful! That was the case with this clean and simple card. I had no direction when I started this. I just sat down to play. I may do another similar card in the future so I can share some video techniques with you, but for now, just a simple blog post with photos for this card!

I started by stamping the globe image and embossing it with BRUTUS MONROE’S GILDED EMBOSSING POWDER. I love that this powder has no wax fillers, so it really makes the embossing shine! I colored the image in with my ZIG CLEAN COLOR BRUSH MARKERS, and then fussy cut the image.

I have a love-hate relationship with fussy-cutting! I love the look, but hate actually doing it! Who’s with me?

I also stamped, embossed, and fussy cut a number of small flowers and leaves on kraft cardstock. I have been a little obsessed with kraft lately- I just enjoy the natural and simple look it brings to a project.

I added these little fussy cut florals to the globe, and added some foam adhesive to the back of the globe, as well. Before I adhered it to the card, however, I wanted to do a little work on the background.

I stamped and embossed some branches behind where the globe was going to go, and then I also took some MOWED LAWN DISTRESS INK and blended on a light circle to give a glow of color behind the globe.

Then, I took some green GLIMMER MIST and added some splatters. I have a few other cards that I recently used this splatter technique on, as well. If you’d like to see those card, click HERE and HERE.

With my background complete, I only had to then place my globe with the fussy cut flowers over the ink blending and embossed images. Then, I used some VERSAFINE BLACK ink to stamp the “hello”. I love the bold, black sentiment in contrast with the lighter colors on the rest of the card.

Also, how about that GILDED EMBOSSING POWDER? Can you see how it shines when I photograph the card at just the right angle?

I do hope you enjoyed taking a look at this card as much as I enjoyed creating it! Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,
Marie Nicole

To be honest, it’s more of a hate-hate relationship 🙂 but I really dislike fussy cutting. I do it because sometimes I have to but I wish there was a simple die cut for everything

There’s really not a LOVE/hate thing going on when it comes to me and fussy cutting….
It leans more to the “hate” side..
I REALLY REALLY REALLY dislike “fussy cutting”….I don’t even like the terminology……(the word)…”Fussy cutting”…which is why I adore having dies and the Scan N Cut

I have a love hate relationship with fussy cutting too, but lately it’s water coloring. Either I use the wrong ink and it smears. Or I use the wrong paper and it ripple and warps. This card is stunning and I would love to have it and frame it. I just love it. Thanks for the inspiration!
